Concrete Sealing
Even for those who live in areas where it never gets below freezing, sealing and coating your concrete driveway will help better protect it from discoloration, staining, and damage from oil, salt, and other household chemicals. Adding a sealer preserves the look and longevity of the concrete while bringing out its rich color. Sealer will prevent water from absorbing into the concrete by beading it on the surface. This helps concrete last longer, especially in winter. If you want your driveway to last, sealcoating is the way to go.
Concrete is a porous material that readily absorbs liquids. In freeze-thaw climates, the expansion of frozen liquids can destroy the surface of unsealed concrete. Oil, salt, fertilizer, and other household chemicals can discolor and damage unsealed concrete.

When moisture is allowed to penetrate the brick, the damaging effects can cause cracking, breaking, crumbling, and efflorescence problems.
Sealing a brick wall will lock out unwelcome moisture and protect the bricks and mortar joints from damage. Unless you want to purposely change the appearance. Regular maintenance including cleaning and sealing a brick wall will ensure it will be a long-lasting building material that will not fail.
